My top five essential oils

Hey everyone!  Today I am writing about something people ask me about (probably the most).  If you don’t already know, I’m an essential oil nut! I use my oils everyday and for every reason!  But listed below are my top five favorite essential oils and why.  I hope you enjoy!

DoTerra’s Citrus Bliss blend

There’s literally not enough I can say about this oil! Seriously, I could buy a gallon of this stuff without hesitation.  This blend consists of orange, lemon, grapefruit, tangerine, mandarin, bergamot, and vanilla absolute essential oils.  The smell reminds me of an orange citrus cream icicle on a hot summer day.  I normally diffuse when I wake up or simply need a pick-me-up.  I use this oil in my cleaning and deodorizing spray, even in my dishwasher (it also smells great with cassia essential oil!)  You can never fail with this blissful blend!

DoTerra’s Peppermint

This oil is like, my entire first aid kit all bottled up into one little amber glass bottle.  Headache? Peppermint oil.  Tummy troubles? Peppermint oil. Bad breath? Peppermint oil.  Head cold? Yep. You guessed it, peppermint oil! I use this oil every. Single. Day. If there was one essential oil I could ever recommend you trying it would be peppermint!  I make my own toothpaste and add about twenty drops of peppermint to help freshen breath and kill germs.  I put a few drops at the bottom of my shower after a long day to help me unwind and relax.  You can also put a few drops in your tea for a good kick! The possibilities are endless!

DoTerra’s Lemon

Do you ever go to a restaurant, order a water to save a few bucks and immediately regret it the second you taste the rusty, tap water taste?  Well I used to until I discovered that I could infuse lemon essential oil into my rusty cup of water! Seriously, though it’s great! As soon as my water arrives, I add about 3-4 drops over the top and mix with my straw. It tastes even better than using a lemon wedge because you don’t get the acidic bitter favor.  I use lemon in my cleaners and even when I clean my dishwasher.  I just run it through a heavy cycle with a bowl of vinegar water and about 20 drops of lemon essential oil on the top rack and it does the trick! Microwave 10-15 drops of essential oil in a mug of water for 3-5 minutes and wipe your microwave clean. It works!

Eden’s Garden Brand Tea Tree

This oil is perfect for disinfecting counter tops, toothbrushes, and many other items! It smells so fresh and clean. I like to diffuse when I have my “deep-cleaning” days to help eliminate germs and bacteria in the air. I put a few drops on a cotton ball and toss in my garbage or behind my toilet to help with odors, too! If you want to keep your family germ-free without using harsh chemicals, this is your BFF!

And last, but not least…

DoTerra’s Lavender

Everyone’s favorite, the Mac-daddy of all oils!  I think most people have heard of lavender essential oil and if you haven’t, please help yourself out and research it! I use lavender for my laundry, in my home made carpet deodorizer, and as a pillow spray.  If you’ve read my first blog, you’ll know that I’ve struggled with panic disorder and anxiety. Any time I feel anxious or on-edge, I just pull out my personal inhaler and sniff away. There’s something very relaxing and soothing about this oil. I can even tell a difference if I don’t diffuse my lavender (usually with patchouli) before I go to bed.  I’ve made homemade perfumes and used this as a primary ingredient. This oil is truly heaven sent. I highly recommend!

These are my top five bullet-proof oils that I recommend anyone to use.  I use these on a daily basis and I don’t know why I didn’t start using them sooner! I hope you enjoyed this post and comment with any questions or, well, comments!
