Biscuit recipe from Simple Living Mom.

This is a super yummy staple for our family.  I love having these biscuits with supper or breakfast because they’re so simple and delicious. I actually made them tonight to go with our meal.  I got this recipe from the YouTube channel, Simple Living Mom.  I follow her channel for many different reasons and encourage you to check it out.  She has videos on homesteading, recipes, homeschooling, and more! Scratch-made biscuits.

Yield: 6-8 servings

Prep time: About 5 minutes

Total time: Approx. 20 minutes

Ingredients

Flour  |  2 cups

Baking powder  |  1 Tbsp

Salt  |  1 Tsp

Sugar  |  1 Tbsp

Butter  |  1/3 Cup

Cold milk|  1 Cup

Directions

Pre-heat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit.

Mix dry ingredients.

Cut butter into the dry ingredients until the mixture has the texture similar to cornmeal.

Incorporate the milk by adding small amounts at a time to the mixture until combined. Don’t over mix.

Place dough onto floured surface and knead about 10 times.

Roll out dough and cut with a biscuit cutter or floured glass brim.

Toss into the oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and enjoy!

Special Diet Information

To make this recipe dairy-free, simply replace the butter with shortening and the milk with almond milk. It’s just as delicious!

Below are the biscuits I made with supper. I was running short on baking powder, so they’re not as “fluffy” as usual, but just as tasty! 🙂
